The GMP file extension is used to identify Geomorph Tile Map files in the Geomorph graphic mapping software application. GMP files contain images stored in binary code and data used to generate topographic representations of different geographies. GMP formatting supports 16-bit per channel graphic display and 3D plot coordinates. GMP files contain tiles - smaller snapshots of geographic regions - used to zoom in and rotate 3 dimensional models. Geomorph software is designed for Linux platforms. GMP files can be edited with the appropriate software.
